There is something to be said about what a person keeps, or about their luggage: But you can really learn something about a person if you look at what they’ve THROWN AWAY and are NO LONGER USING…
Like…”sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like…”
–Galatians 5:19.
What’s in your trashbag? Are you carrying too much “luggage” in life? Do you need to downsize? What do you have? Have you realized what God has/will have for you??
ALso, don’t limit the space in your trash-bag or bags. Give God space to put more in there, or even to use your past trash to use it for something beautiful!!!

I was born in Maryland and lived in Pennsylvania for two years before we moved to Puerto Rico as missionaries when I was nine. My family has always lived pretty faith-led, ad-lib lives, no matter where we are. This has probably also made me a bit crazy, too--in a good way, hopefully! As a missionary-kid, I’ve seen both the difficult and joyful sides of being on the mission field. I hope that one day, I’ll go back on the mission field. I love the adventure.
Besides Puerto Rico, which mostly feels like home, which is where my heart lies and where some of our most precious friends live, there are future mission feilds in mind. Haiti and the Dominican Republic are places I might consider going to for mission work. The plight of Haitians is really on my mind lately. However, other islands also pique my interest, like St. Thomas and St. John. We visited St. Thomas & St. John a year and a half ago to see family. My dad is originally from St. Lucia, and my mom is from Vermont.
I’ve been entered into a bunch of writing competitions. Last year (2014) I represented Puerto Rico in the national VFW Voice of Democracy competition, along with one finalist from each state and territory in the U.S. We toured Washington, DC and stayed by/toured Valley Forge. That was a life-changing experience.
Also, I’m in a music school where I’m part of a 65-person choir, and I’m one of the many sopranos. I played the flute for 5 years, but now I’m just singing. I also help my mother and sisters with worship songs at church, and occasionally with special contemporary music.
We have a cat, parrot, parakeet, and loads of fish--all 2nd, 3rd, or 4th-hand pets. I love things like photography, drawing, and, of course, writing. I laugh too much, and I’m still a kid at heart. I hope to one day speak Spanish fluently. I’m the second kid of five kids--four girls, one boy total.
